Weir with hydroelectric power plant, part of a system of waterworks on the Elbe river, of which there are 16 in Central Bohemia alone. The Elbe played an important role in the fortification of medieval Nymburk, and was not regulated until 1914. The weir was built first (in 1919-1924), followed by the power plant on the right bank and the lock chamber on the left one. As in case of the later waterwork in Kolín, the author of the highly cultivated early modern design was František Roith. Tours only by appointment.
