Dobrovice Town Hall

Palackého nám. 28
Dobrovice, 294 41

Renaissance Town Hall built by Hynek of Wallenstein around 1600, still serving its original purpose. The tower and the Ceremonies Hall, with the original coffered ceiling transferred from the Dance Hall of the Dobrovice Chateau, are open to visitors.

The Dobrovice Town Hall was built around 1610 by Hynek of Wallenstein, with a replica of the ceiling from the Dance Hall of the chateau and an astronomical clock on the tower. In 1673, the Town Hall was devastated by fire, then reconstructed within a year, but without the ceiling and the clock. Nowadays the ceremonies hall features the original Dance Hall ceiling from the former chateau.

In 2008, the Dobrovice Municipality opened the tower to visitors, after cleaning and repairing it and installing a new safe staircase.

The tower is open every weekday, during the opening times of the Dobrovice Information Centre, where visitors can arrange the ascent.
