Husovo náměstí 1201
Nové Město nad Metují, 549 01
Originally a late Gothic castle founded together with the town in 1501, restored by the Pernštejns after a fire in 1526, converted to the Renaissance style in the mid-16th century. In the following years its owners changed and so did its architecture. In 1908, it was purchased by the Bartoňs of Dobenín, a family of industrialists who adapted it into their permanent residence, with cooperation from architect Dušan Jurkovič in 1909-1912. The chateau now presents interiors furnished with modern furniture. An attractive addition to the chateau offer is the interactive tour “From the Loft to the Cellar“, which will include visits to the loft, cellar and historic kitchen, and enable participants to test their dexterity. They may even meet a ghost … Some of the rooms are available for cultural, social and education events. The chateau also offers romantic stays, with accommodation available in two double-room suites, each for 2 persons, with en-suite bathroom and WC, small fridge, high-speed kettle, TV, SAT, and WiFi, with the possibility of 2 extra beds. Guests can park their cars in a private lot on the chateau grounds. The price includes accommodation and breakfast, and a guided chateau tour. The chateau garden, open every year from May to September, is ideal for rest and relaxation. It features stepped terraces, stone statues of dwarfs from the M.B.Braun workshop, and a wooden bridge designed by Dušan Jurkovič. More information on the chateau official website: www.zameknm.cz
