Ještěd Mountain is one of the dominant features of North Bohemian landscape and symbol of Liberec. The monumental structure of the hotel plus the TV transmitter based on it, designed by architect Karel Hubáček, is close to 100 m high. The interior equipment varied in the course of time, of the original furnishings, the glass sculpture "Falling Meteorites" has been preserved. The room noteworthy for its black-and-white colour scheme, with a table and tapestry designed by Vladimir Křečan, was renovated in 2013, to mark 40 years of the building´s existence.
