At the Water Gate Museum

Olomoucká 322/322
Uničov, 783 91

A former municipal armoury, the museum is a Renaissance building of notable architecture from 1575-1585. It has an oval ground plan, windows breaking both storeys, and the chief entrance with a stone arch portal. Situated near one of the two town gates - the Water Gate, it was part of the town walls. Renovation was carried out in the 1980´s. The building is now used as a museum with a permanent exposition on the history of the royal town of Uničov, and an interesting gallery of Uničov mayors on the lower floor.
