The complex consists of the Green Gate, built after 1507, and the outer gate house with a relief by Mikoláš Aleš of 1903, depicting the city´s coat-of-arms legend of "Ješek of Pardubice outside Milan in 1158". The Green Gate is part of the former town fortifications of the Pernštejn period. The outer gate space is used as an exhibition gallery.

The Green Gate is part of the former Pernstein town fortifications and it is one of the most significant dominant features of the town.
