The neo-Renaissance Town Hall standing in the south-west part of Dr. Edvarda Beneše Square since 1893 is one of the most renowned buildings in Liberec. It was designed by Viennese architect Franz Neumann - hence its resemblance to Vienna´s City Hall. Its dominant features are the balustraded balcony and the 65-m tall tower topped by the replica of a copper knight. The entrance hall boasts a marble stairway with the ceiling above it decorated by an allegorical picture of Liberec. The brightest of all the interiors, and singular in artistic terms, is the ceremonies hall.
