Malt House Gallery

Masarykova 356
Žatec, 438 01

Built in 1573-1574, from 1779 serving as the municipal granary. In 1801 sold and converted into a residential house, after 1886 turned into a paint and varnish manufacturing plant. In 1953 the house passed into the possession of the state, and gradually fell into disrepair. In the early 1990s it received a temporary roof, and since 2010, when it was included in the Temple of Hops and Beer project, it has been undergoing a general structural renovation. Today the Malt House offers an information bureau with public access to the internet and sale of souvenirs, exhibition Žatec in Film, another of archaelogical finds and a small TV studio on the ground floor, on the 1st floor an art gallery and lecture hall.
